The Edward C. Jagers, Jr. Scholarship was established to honor and perpetuate the memory of Edward (Eddie) C. Jagers, Jr. Edward was born with severe heart and other medical problems that ultimately took him from us in May 1998. In spite of his physical limitations, he approached life with vigor and enthusiasm. He was a very conscientious student and excited about succeeding in his work. He was an Honor Roll Student at the Full Gospel Christian School. He enjoyed helping his teachers and classmates. He spiritually inspired others. His life exemplified the theme, "Make an effort, not an excuse" and the Scripture, "I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me," Philippians 4:13.

This is a scholarship based on merit, acknowledging those students having a strong academic background, displaying a Christ-like character as observed by his/her teacher and receiving personal recognition. It is awarded annually to at least one eligible, currently enrolled student of From the Heart Christian School (FTHCS) entering grades 4 through 12 in the academic year following the award. This is a non-renewable $1,800 award. The scholarship is limited to one recipient per family per year.

The scholarship is administered by the Scholarship Award Committee (SAC) and a designee appointed by the Pastor of From The Heart Church (FTHC) Ministries. Students are recommended by their teacher(s), with the concurrence of the Principal of the School. To be eligible, students or immediate family must be a full member of FTHC, in good standings for at least one year. They must be currently enrolled, full-time, in the school. They must have maintained at least a 2.8 grade point average (GPA) or better at the school for at least two consecutive school years. Nominees are required to write (or type) at least a one-page essay, in their own words, describing their goals, values, academic and personal achievements. A letter will be sent to each nominee advising him or her of the nomination. SAC will make the final selections after an assessment or verification of the student's grade point average, academic history and the one-page statement prepared by the student. Awards are announced by the SAC at the FTHCS' Annual Awards Ceremony. Scholarship awards support partial tuition at FTHCS for the following academic year (September-June).

Funds for the scholarship are raised through an annual fund-raising event--concert/or play and dinner as well as contributions. If you would like to be on our mailing list for the events, please e-mail your name, address and phone number to:
